News Letters

2011 was a banner year for ISS GMT, and 2012 is shaping up to be busier and better. We began 2012 with the grand opening of our 4th country location in Singapore. Our new office joins our existing locations in Fort Lauderdale, Vancouver, and Manila. We recently launched our new corporate website which provides many links to helpful travel tools for our customers. Visit to send travel requests, live chat with our agents, visit our calendar of events, view pictures of our staff as well as many useful tools such as currency and, world time converters, visa assistance, and links to the associations and events we sponsor. Click on the F on our site to visit our new Facebook page.

Personal relationships have been a major key to our success over the years. The thing my staff and I enjoy the most is getting out of the office to meet our colleagues and clients. Whether it’s on the docks, at industry events, trade shows, fundraisers, or in the local watering hole, you stand a good chance of running into one of us to share some laughs, drinks, and network. It’s our way of staying close to the leading edge of the trends that shape our industry. Please make sure you join our mailing list to receive updates on industry events throughout the year.

In March, we returned for our 8th year to Cruise Shipping Miami (Seatrade) at the Miami Beach Convention Center. Mark your calendar for this annual event scheduled for March 12-14, 2013 and pass by our booth. Also in March, ISS GMT attended the annual CMA (Connecticut Maritime Association) show in Stamford Connecticut.

April found us in Singapore attending the annual Seatrade Offshore Marine conference, the IBC Asia Offshore Support Vessels conference, and the Asia Pacific Superyacht Conference. Closer to home in Fort Lauderdale, the annual Cruise 360 event was held at the Fort Lauderdale Convention Center with ISS GMT exhibiting for the second year in a row. 9 different ISS GMT staffers took turns spinning on a stationary bike at the annual Marine Industry Cares fundraiser in Fort Lauderdale’s Esplanade park to benefit Kids in Distress.

Looking forward in the year, we hope to see you at the following events.

American Superyacht forum & Sportfishing Tournament, May 21 – 23. Bahia Mar Yacht Basin

Join us at the Newport Charter Yacht Show June 18 – 21 in Newport Rhode Island which is celebrating its 30th year

We hope to see you in the South of France for the Cannes International Yacht Show, September 11 – 16, and of course stay in the area for the Monaco Yacht Show Join us September 19 – 22 for our 5th year hosting The Captain’s Hide Out. Last year we held it at the Fusion Restaurant above the Stars & Bars and entertained hundreds of captains and crew.

Our calendar is always jam packed with various industry events surrounding the Fort Lauderdale International Boat Show. As dates are firmed, we will post which ones ISS GMT will sponsor. And what would FLIBS be without a quiet place to duck into for a cold drink and hot lunch? Join us at the FLIBS Captain’s Hideout at the Bahia Mar Yacht basin again this year October 25-29, 2012.

Stay tuned for dates for the 5th annual Fort Yachtie Da Film Festival, presented by Crew Unlimited. ISS GMT is a proud sponsor of what is becoming one of the premiere industry events of the year.

One last word about the Monaco Yacht Show, FLIBS, and any other annual event you typically attend. If you haven’t already booked your flights to the events you know you will attend, I heartily encourage you to do so as soon as possible. While our marine fares typically don’t fluctuate, the airlines have been gradually increasing the fuel surcharges as they reduce capacity. Don’t end up with “sticker shock” when it comes time to book. As a reminder, we offer competitive pricing in economy, premium economy, and business class.

All the best,
Tim Davey – President, ISS GMT
