The “Maritime Cyprus 2023” Conference is set to occur in Limassol from October 8 -11, 2023. It is a prominent biennial event organized by the Shipping Deputy Ministry in collaboration with the Cyprus Shipping Chamber and the Cyprus Union of Shipowners. Since its inception in 1989, it has become one of the world’s most significant shipping conferences.
The conference attracts over 1,000 participants, including shipowners, shipping executives, regulators, state officials, and high-profile speakers from around the globe. The event aims to showcase Cyprus’s rich maritime tradition and its thriving maritime industry in Limassol. Cyprus seeks to maintain and strengthen its role as a proactive, competitive maritime nation with a positive global impact.
The central theme for this year’s conference is “Shipping in Action: An Agenda for Change.” The program includes panel discussions with renowned shipping specialists addressing key challenges in the shipping industry today, such as sustainable shipping, the future of EU shipping from the shipowners’ perspective, energy transition, shipbuilding’s role, ship finance, and digital transformation.
The official opening of the conference is scheduled for October 8, 2023, during which the “Cyprus Maritime Award 2023” winner will be announced by the President of the Republic of Cyprus. The main conference sessions will occur from October 9-11, 2023.
