Ensuring Safe Ship Crew Changes

Global Marine Travel LLC (GMT) is a global marine travel management company. Operating from their Headquarters in Fort Lauderdale, Florida, they operate several major hubs in the US and Philippines with additional offices in Mumbai, Singapore, Dubai, Ukraine and the UK, GMT is well versed in managing large crew movements and maintains excellent airline relationships with over 100 marine contracts.

Whilst many airports are just now starting to open sporadically, and numerous governments remain at least in partial lockdown, there are positive indications that partly due to the efforts of IMEC and the IMO, more crew movements will be permitted provided members adhere to the Framework of Protocols for Ensuring Safe Ship Crew Changes and Travel.

Where cooperative agreements are in place, GMT will immediately begin to book flights for crew in an effort to return to normalization of crew changes. Where travel restrictions still remain, GMT will work in advance of anticipated lifting of restrictions to have flights ready to go. GMT cannot of course guarantee that governmental agencies, airports, and airlines will normalize operations in accord with planned movements, however our goal is to be ready when they do.

Accuracy in numbers is important for IMEC members to report on as GMT will negotiate fare offers and added seat capacity with the airlines based on the total numbers for each route.
