Teamwork, Safety and Togetherness Onboard

GMT is delighted to announce the winners of the 2021 V.Group picture competition, with 92 pictures submitted in total featuring vessels, people, various activities – all of them telling a story within their own right.

We were delighted with the response from seafarers all over the map with a total of 30 talented photographers. There were some truly magnificent pictures, and we can’t thank all participants enough for taking the time to share their pictures with us.

As shipping is all about people, we wanted to put the main focus on safe collaboration, being embedded in our core values. Therefore, the selected themes for the 2021 competition were split into three categories: Teamwork – Safety – Togetherness on Board.

Upon receipt, all entries were appraised in line with V.Group’s HSSEQ procedures, before being shortlisted by an executive judging panel. The shortlisted pictures per category were then shared on the V.Group Instagram account for the public to vote on the best picture per category. The results were as follows:

TEAMWORK

TOGETHERNESS

• Winner’s Name:  Gaurav S., Third Officer
• Picture Caption:  “Sundays don’t feel complete without a basketball game on board a ship”

All winners received a $250 travel voucher from GMT. Patricia Stroud, Marketing Coordinator, who oversaw the initiative commented: “The photo entries this year were of superb quality, and may I extend a huge ‘thank you’ to everyone who took the time to enter the competition.”
